Kay Nemjo

As a small child my mother occupied me with fingerpaints when she was painting. I was fascinated by all the colors. As I grew older I moved on to working with graphite. as well as pen and ink. Eventually my endeavors in art were overtaken by career and family obligations.  Having no formal art education in 1992 I began attending and participating in local art workshops using pastel. watercolor and oil.
I became a juried member of the Southwest Washington Watercolor Society and served as President for two years. Additionally I am a member of the Society of Washington Artists and the Mosaic Artists Alliance. I serve as a Commissioner representing LaCenter on the Clark County Arts Commission.
My subject matter is inspired by nature and animals, both wild and domestic. I enjoy traveling and discovering new sources for the subject of my paintings.
I currently work in watercolor. pastel, and pen and ink.
I have exhibited my art in various Southwest Washington locales.
